This term 19th Maidenhead Cubs have been working on a dementia project in partnership with local charity ADS. After receiving awareness training and playing games to lean about dementia Cubs have spent a number of weeks thinking abut their own memories of Christmas/ Making memory boxes, which they have shared with others in the group. On Sunday 11th December, 10 Cubs and 7 adults joined the 100s in their red Santa suits at Dorney Lake for the annual 5km Santa run in aid of Alzheimers Dementia Support.
Cub Scout Peter Nicholas said, “It’s been really interesting learning about Dementia, and sharing our memories.” In total the pack have clocked up over 400 hours towards their community impact project and will receive their badges and certificates in the new year.
