Beavers and Cubs headed to Gillwell Park Centre last weekend for a full day of adventure, rafting, water slides and climbing were just a few of thing things on offer.
Our group entered two teams who navigated their own route, and took part in eight different challenges bases along the way all organised and put on by the Scout section.
Cubs and Scouts from 19th Maidenhead Spent the weekend away on a Spy Themed Camp, Recruited into MI19 Cubs and Scouts progressed through a morning of Specialist spy training, in the fields of communication, code breaking, and electric circuits. The Weekend took them through a Who-done-it murder mystery, with real forensic testing, and a mission to catch a double agent.
The story spread across the whole weekend picked up pace as the Campfire was interrupted by an unplanned Code Amber alert, The security breach lead to a surprise wide game to catch a double agent all under the covers of darkness. The weekend was wound up with a Hike out the dead Dead drop on the Sunday morning to complete their mission, and finally discover the truth.
It was all hands on deck for the Beavers and Cubs at the 19th Maidenhead, Ship wrecked at Walter Davis Scout Camp site, for a full weekend of pirate stories and adventure. They had Neckers tied into bandanas, and bags of energy to do anything piratey. There was Scrub the decks mop hockey, A Jolly Roger Zip line,and Ship building, and and if that wasn’t enough to shiver your timbers, the Booby trapped treasure hunt sorted Pirates from the Cabin crew. A great day was had by all.

They also cooked dinner on trangeas and did various activities to learn about the Philipines cyclone and what’s being done about it.
The Cubs and Scouts raised over £700 which is a fantastic effort. They also got an article into the Maidenhead Advertisor.
